JOB OPENING | senior research position at ProteoFormiX

To strengthen ProteoFormiX' scientific team, we have an opening for a senior research position (postdoc level) in our JLABS@BE mass spectrometry histochemistry (MSHC) facility at the Johnson & Johnson Innovation Center in Beerse (Belgium).

​

You will provide a critical contribution to this exciting stage of the business development of our young and growing company, as you will help to achieve essential proof-of-concept for clinical applications of our proprietary MSHC technology.

​

You will directly report to the CSO, working with ProteoFormiX' clients and scientific collaborators for the design and execution of MSHC research projects with a focus on cancer and dementia biomarker discovery research.

​

You will be involved in all aspects of high resolution MALDI MS imaging experiments, including sample preparation, data collection, data/statistical analysis and reporting.

​

Amongst others, your responsibilities will be to ensure swift and reliable processes for data storage, data integrity, and overall information flow, and to guarantee optimal technical performance of the analytical equipment.

  • You have a problem-solving attitude and a proactive and (quantitative) analytical mind-set.

  • You are dedicated to deliver high quality results.

  • You are able to work efficiently on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.

  • You have a talent for time- and project management.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills (particularly in English and Dutch).

YOUR PROFILE

  • Your areas of expertise include: Biomolecular MS, preferably on Orbitrap systems; MS Imaging, Data Analysis, Hardware Maintenance. Understanding of Bioanalysis is a pre.

  • You have a PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific field with an emphasis on mass spectrometry.

  • You have experience with analytical instrumentation.

  • Prior experience with biological samples (tissue/biofluids) and basic knowledge on (human) histology are an asset.
